Resilience in Man and Machine
Job security for the guy who knows how to connect the wires. Color coding the wires was a good idea.
This machine (CDC 7600) replaced the CDC 6600 and was considered the fastest machine from 1969 to 1975.
The machine would break down at least once a day, often 4 or 5 times.
