Clicking Fun (Sleeping Sun)

Page Title

Not many people actually know this, but the popular ballad Sleeping Sun was originally an advertisement for Amazon Prime, written by the group Nightwish. Amazon wanted promotional material for their upcoming Prime Day, but thought that the lyrics were a total disaster, and rejected the song.

Nightwish re-wrote the lyrics and the result was a smashing success. The original lyrics were discovered on a crumpled scrap of paper on the floor of a recording studio, and were thought to be lost, but here they are:

Clicking Fun

The mouse is clicking quietly
Back-and-forth, no penalty!
Socks and T-shirts, brown and red
That's an expensive water bed...

For my dreams I'll save that knife,
For dishes I unfold my sight
The truth at the end of time
Pay-to-ship makes a crime...

Refrain:
I wish for this Prime-time
to last for a lifetime
The markets around me
Stores... with a guar-an-tee
Oh how I wish to melt down with the fun
Clicking
Picking
...brand-new

And-so grab your shopping cart
Be so-awed, and now depart
A sale! Fall for a thousand tunes
Never finding Cal-yp-so...

Three hundred sixty-five days, alright!
Will be inspired ev-ery night
A moment for the shopper's play
Until there's nothing left - but pay....

Refrain:
I wish for this Prime-time
to last for a lifetime
The markets around me
Stores... with a guar-an-tee
Oh how I wish to melt down with the fun
Clicking
Picking
...brand-new

I wish for this Prime-time
to last for a lifetime
The markets around me
Stores... with a guar-an-tee
Oh how I wish to melt down with the fun
Clicking
Picking
...brand-new
