Francois-Marie Arouet (November 21, 1694 – May 30, 1778), famous using his pen name Voltaire, was a French writer, deist and philosopher.
 
Voltaire was also known to have been an advocate for coffee [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voltaire], as he was purported to have drunk the beverage at least 30 times per day. It has been suggested that high amounts of caffeine acted as a mental stimulant to his creativity
