The Case for Using Probabilistic Knowledge in a Computer Chess Program (John L. Jerz)
Resilience in Man and Machine

Let's plug this phrase into the magic Google oracle and see what comes out... compare with what Art Markman tells us in Smart Thinking:

The key to solving problems is to recognize that when you get stuck you are not calling to mind knowledge you have that might help you solve the problem. If you have knowledge that will enable you to solve the problem, then you need to change the description of the problem to create new cues to memory that will bring new knowledge to mind.

Good or okay insight:

The key to solving problems is to previously analyze them and have the necessary knowledge to provide a customized answer for each case.

The key to solving problems is to change your perspective. Remember that we all see the world through our own paradigms. We look at the problem through our own set of glasses. What may appear as a problem to me, might be crystal clear for you.

The key to solving problems is to feel your problems and understand them. When problems emerge, recognize them. Look at your strengths and weaknesses to find ways to improve. Discover some concerns by exploring them and take time to find ways to resolve your concerns.

Not so good insight:

The key to solving problems is to isolate the problem to a specific subsystem by comparing what the router is doing to what it should be doing.
The LEDs on the front and rear panel of the router enable you to determine router performance and operation.  JLJ- great if you work with routers...

the key to solving problems is to stop thinking about them. Problems exist only as long as you think about them. JLJ- nope. I stopped thinking about them and they are still there. sorry.
