'Cause I want it now
I want it now
Give me a plate and a bowl...
Matthew Bellamy of the Rock group Muse had an earlier career where he worked at the help desk of an Information
Technology company.
Matthew did nothing all day, like most IT people, except construct plots to make computer users unhappy and
to essentially lock them out of their computers.
There was this excellent cafeteria located on the first floor of the building he worked in, and all the IT
people would go for lunch at around noon every day.
Matthew could think of nothing all day but the 12 noon lunch, and he would frequently pick up his guitar,
which just happened to be lying next to his desk, and one day he composed a terrific bass guitar riff and lead solo while
bored, having locked 10 people out of their PCs, and it being nearly lunch time.
Matt scribbled these lyrics on a piece of paper and submitted the song to his producer, where it was immediately
rejected. They suggested that he change the song title and a few of the words, and the rest was history.
