The Case for Using Probabilistic Knowledge in a Computer Chess Program (John L. Jerz)
Resilience in Man and Machine

Meet the man who claims to see the future...

p.2 scenario planning is one of the best ways to prepare for an uncertain future

p.4 It is always worth asking yourself: "how could I be wrong?"

p.7 Diversity really does matter. Inviting people into the conversation who make you uncomfortable is a very good idea.

p.27-28 The Art of the Long View continues to sell. It succeeds through simplicity. To do scenario planning well, there are better books - such as Kees van der Heijden's, Scenarios: The Art of the Strategic Conversation, which is a very good users' guide to the technique. It is comprehensive, rigorous, and rich with examples. But The Art of the Long View is a particularly accessible introduction, which is why business professors recommend that their students read it to understand the idea and value of scenario planning.
