"Dan's abilities as a consultant are many. First and foremost, he is an excellent thinker who grasps strategic implications... Dan is a first class consultant." - Martyn Howgill, Senior Vice President, Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana

"...I have continued to be amazed by your ability to orchestrate discussion groups to cause us to think outside of the boxes and beyond what we thought might have been possible in some of our discussions and to help us zero in on some of the thoughtful strategies of the future." - James E. Dalton, Jr., President & CEO, Quorum Health Group, Inc., Brentwood, Tennessee

Read one or two of the articles this guy has written and you will see that he knows the elements of strategy and how to apply them to the tough problems of today.

Keep in mind that some of Beckham's articles are 20 years old and therefore a bit dated. We see Beckham grasping for core ideas and concepts that he uses to suggest solutions to the tough problems faced by an evolving Health Care industry. Systems thinking and the systems approach are discussed along with other strategic ideas. Beckham's "bite sized" articles are easily digested and reflect the mind of a consultant at work. Beckham is marketing his skills and in effect saying, "you get this kind of approach and this kind of insight when you hire me/my team".

Dan Beckham is president of The Beckham Company, a strategic consulting firm based in Bluffton, S.C. He is also a regular contributor to H&HN Weekly.

"Strategy Is At The Center Of All We Do"

"the plans we help develop get implemented and produce significant results."

It is impossible to be completely flexible. You need a mix of resolve and flexibility - a combination of nonnegotiable expectations and purposeful experimentation. What's needed is a "flexible persistence."
